Princess Eugenie's first Instagram post since 'Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invite'
The Princess of York has uploaded her first social media post to Instagram since "receiving an invite from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle".
Princess Eugenie has uploaded her first social media post to Instagram since reports circulated that she had received an invite from Prince Harry and Meghan Markleto spend Christmas with them.
Princess Eugenie, 34, posted a string of images showing paintings that she likes, starting a series to "showcase her love of art".
She accompanied the images with the caption: "Introducing the first in my new series showcasing my love of art.
"As some of you may know, I am a huge lover of art & a director at @hauserwirth - throughout 2025 I hope to share more of that part of my world with you.
"Starting with Monet and London: views of the Thames at the @courtauld Gallery.
"Monet was fascinated by the light and smog of London as it became an industrial city at the turn of the 20th century.
Princess Eugenie explained further: "He visited the city 3 times to paint some of his most remarkable impressionist paintings, Charing Cross Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
"Fun fact: he stayed at the @thesavoylondon and could see both bridges from his window.
"I couldn’t get over the way he captured light on the water. The seriality of the work is almost like he’s taking photographs just like how we would in 2024 but his being in 1899."
The Instagram photos follow a source claiming that Harry and Meghan invited the Princess of York to spend Christmas with them in America.
The source revealed: "Harry and Meghan have invited Eugenie and Jack to join them in California during the holidays.
"It’s a very difficult position for Eugenie because she has also been invited to Sandringham. It would be so nice for the children to spend time with their cousins.

"The diary is very tight over the holidays but there might be a slot free around New Year’s time for everyone to come together at some point."
Princess Eugenie has two children - August, 3, and Ernest, 1. They are similar ages to their cousins, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The insider added: "Eugenie is in a difficult position because she’s always been close to Harry, but she is mindful of how that relationship could affect her standing with the rest of her family.
"She is always trying to manage a difficult balancing act, which can become quite tiresome at times. Eugenie doesn’t want to jeopardise the family’s renewed goodwill efforts."
